Mercy Ministry

Our role as church planters in Honduras is to bring the good news of the gospel to a poor and suffering people. When we refer to the people of Honduras as poor and suffering, we a referring to both their spiritual state and their physical state. Mercy Ministry is showing the love and mercy of God by caring for the physical state of all those who are poor and suffering. We see in the life of Jesus a ministry of word (preaching and teaching concering the souls of men and women) and of deed (healing the sick, teaching to care for the poor, etc.) These two ministries (word and deed) are inseparably linked together in the gospel, and therefore are both a part of the ministry of the church.
Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the Western hemisphere, and we hope to bring some of the healing of God, both spiritually and physically, to these needy people. We will serve medical clinics, work with children, some of whom live on the street, and generally seek to bring love and justice for the poor and suffering. Our ministry of mercy is not something seperate from our goal of church planting, but rather a ministry that is vital to our overall efforts. The Church of Christ is to love those in need, and as his workers and vessels of his love, we will seek to be his church and minister his grace to a lost and dying world.
